Amelia

We had a blog going, which you could still visit - www.plucharbabyblog.com.  It hasn’t been updated in some time, mainly because it takes a lot of work just to keep up with Amelia, let alone write about what she’s doing.

I’ve spent as much time as I’m going to trying to rotate this image.  Just rotate your head.

What I want to say is that my frequent greeting to Amelia is to offer her my hair.  She usually will grab it with her left hand (see above) and stuff her right fist in her mouth.  This seems to be her excited “twitch.”

She pulls pretty hard, so the side of my head is snug against her torso.  That’s something, to think of your head being the size of someone’s entire torso.

The benefit of this arrangement for me is that my ear is even with her heart, and I get to listen to her quick, pint-sized heartbeat for a few moments.  During her gestation, Amelia’s heartbeat was my lighthouse.  It’s the universal, irreducible sign of life.
